As part of the project led by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIC), in partnership with the GIZ, industrial decarbonization represents a strategic priority, particularly for export-oriented sectors that are increasingly subject to environmental and climate-related requirements in international markets.
In this context, the Moroccan fisheries sector, represented by FENIP, has been identified as a priority sector that could benefit from operational support to strengthen its transition towards a lower-carbon industry.
To this end, a Call for Expressions of Interest (CEI) has been launched to support 5 pilot companies in the fisheries sector in:
- Assessing their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions;
- Identifying the main sources of emissions;
- Developing decarbonization roadmaps tailored to their activities;
- Identifying concrete actions to reduce their carbon footprint and improve their environmental performance.
This support represents an opportunity for participating companies to better anticipate evolving environmental requirements in international markets, particularly export markets, while identifying opportunities to improve their performance and competitiveness.
FENIP therefore invites its interested members to review the CEI and take advantage of this opportunity by submitting their applications.
